ACE is a mission-oriented innovation unit in the Homeland Security Groups within the Home Office that works across government to solve challenges arising from science, data and digital technology that impact the nation’s safety, security, prosperity and health.
It does this by bringing together the best ideas, expertise and capabilities from across industry, academia and the third sector via its community, which is called Vivace.
Starting out in 2017 as an experiment – a start-up within government – ACE has now delivered more than 250 commissions worth over £120million for more than 50 public sector bodies. The community has grown to more than 340 organisations, 75% of which are start-ups and SMEs.
